We've got a couple killer new local releases in store now... First, the Eddy Current Suppression Ring 'Demons Demands b/w I'm Guilty' 7" is here - both the local release on Stained Circles (limited pressing of 300 copies!) and a very small quantity of the US pressing on Iron Lung. This record is exclusively available for mailorder through Missing Link and the band. We also have the Eddy Current Suppression Ring / UV Race split cassette - limited to 300 indiviudally hand drawn covers - recorded right here at Missing Link when they played an instore back in May. We also have the new CDEP from Melbourne's Request Line, featuring ex-members of 28 Days and Mindsnare playing catchy, anthemic pop punk. Add to this a swag of new Aussie hardcore and punk fanzines and it's getting crowded down here...

OK so the new Carpathian album "isolation" is about to drop (02-08-08) and looks like its going to be one of the killer Aus hardcore releases of the year. We are currently taking pre-orders for it and every pre-order goes into to the draw to win a limited carpathian skate deck, shirt and signed poster. Imagine how envious your friends will be when they come over for a quick round of pre-show practice moshing in your living room and see that sucker hanging from your wall. Oh and for all you vinyl nerds out there, its also being issued on lp format. Get on it.

Of course, it's all available for mailorder, so check us out or get in touch!

The very excellent Pink Reason 'Cleaning the Mirror' CD has just had local release on Stained Circles. The true spirit of undeground DIY featuring creepy synthm stark strums, rickety percussive splats and vocal woe... An extremely interesting character and we highly recommend this album! We have also got back in stock the latest single from P.R. on the great Fashionable Idiots label in the US: 'Borrowed Time' has a lot more pace and energy than his other more mellow stuff but feels right at home. We've also just recieved a huge stock of DVDs including the new Cannibal Corpse (plenty of live footage, etc.)

Some killer vinyl has come in to the store the last couple days. We've got the new Wooden Shjips LP, a collection of their highly collectible EPs. We've got a restock of the first Clockcleaner 7", a more mellow jam called 'Frogrammer' backed by the seedy Crucifucks cover 'Early Man'. Restocks of the excellent Sex Vid 'Nests' and No Peace 'Zombie Brains'. We also have copies of the very limited new Lakes LP 'Cloven', which has a more sombre / moody approach than previous records but is nonetheless EXCELLENT solo brooding synth / noise.

So Wednesday huh... so we think everybody who loves solid, spuzzed out noisy rock action should secure a copy of the fine DEAF WISH CD-R which we've just got in, as it's fantastic and we love it to pieces. Some it is in the ballpark of Am Rep gruff-o-phonics,or closer to home maybe some Lubricated Goat or Nunbait, whilst other sounds are based a bit more on cool guitar melody. Either way you cut it, it's the best friggin' TEN BUCKS you may spend this or next week so take our word, pick up this and their debut 7" which came before it and you're set. There is a swag of other bits and pieces in this week too...with some quite big releases, so watch this space a bit later today as we update this news item. **We also sent out quite a detailed Online Newsletter on friday, so if you're not getting it, just email Mel at Missinglink dot net dot au and she'll zap you one across the optic fibres...

Restocks and new stuff - True Norwegian Black Metal is a massive hardcover coffee table book of photos by Peter Beste (with an editing hand from Ugly Things regular and all-round music freak Johan Kugelberg) limited to 5000 copies and features Gorgoroth, Burzum (heaps of scans from old metal magazines covering the early 90's hysteria), Darkthrone, Emperor, Mayhem and a HEAP more. The Replacements biography is here too, Thurston Moore & Byron Coley's new book on New York No Wave is superb (both in content and presentation) and restocks of the excellent Process titles - EYE MIND (the wild tale of Roky Erickson & the 13th Floor Elevators), Moondog and the bizarre story of Father Yod.
